The Pact of Islands

An ambitious new project  for the development of sustainable energy action plans in island communities is starting today, 4 February 2010, with a kick-off meeting that is taking place in Brussels with the participation of island representatives and Commission officials.  

 

Over 50 European Islands will be working together in developing sustainable energy action plans with the view to meeting or exceeding the EU sustainability targets for the year 2020.  The project is co-financed by the European Commission, Directorate-General for Energy and Transport.
